April 8, 2005	Mindy felt the baby kick for the first time today!
April 8, 2005	Results from the Integrated Scan test showed no signs of genetic problems with the baby (Spina Bifida or Down's Syndrome)!
April 23, 2005	Mama and Daddy (i.e. Mindy and Paul) were married in Niagara Falls, ON, Canada... View the Pictures. See the videos: .....<Here Comes The Bride>..... <Official Vows>
May 9, 2005	The ultrasound to determine the baby's sex was conducted...See below three great pictures of Erica.
June 7, 2005	Doctor's appointment went well as expected. Mindy's blood pressure is very good and is staying low. She is beautiful as a pregnant mom and has gained 22 pounds so far and her belly is very pronounced. Erica is an active little girl and kicks Mindy a lot -- and you can feel it from the outside well now.
July 11, 2005	Today Mindy had her gestational diabetes and Hematocrit tests (we should have the results near the end of the week). We also conducted the 4-D ultrasound (see link to pictures below).
July 21, 2005	Mindy's gestational diabetes test came back normal but the Hematocrit tests indicated she needs to take additional iron so she is now taking a supplement. The baby can be clearly seen moving around by looking at Mindy's belly (especially at night). Under 10 weeks and counting...
July 25, 2005	Doctors visit went fine. Erica is still/already pointing head down and isn't expected to change direction. Mindy's blood pressure remains normal.
August 8, 2005	Normal doctors visit -- blood pressure OK, weight OK, baby still pointing down, and baby's heartbeat is good and strong.
August 10, 2005	Paul & Mindy attended "Labor Express" refresher course at Valley Hospital. The course covered the labor" process, methods of anesthesia and then ended in a tour of the new birthing center. Paul and Mindy preregistered to make the admissions process easier when she goes in to have Erica.
August 14, 2005	We had a great baby shower at Great Granny Colleen's house in Kirkland hosted by Granny and Aunt Teri with much appreciated help from Aunt Amy. We appreciate all of the wonderful gifts and it was great to see the family and friends.
August 21, 2005	Another great baby shower hosted by Amy Parker, Barb Kiliz, and Sandy Meier in Auburn. Everyone's generosity is appreciated! All of the cute girl clothes has Mindy very ready to have our girl Erica!
August 22, 2005	Doctors visit was normal. Mindy's blood pressure is remaining good and low. Mindy's belly measures 35" top to bottom. The doctor thinks this is probably near the maximum size she will reach as the baby should drop down soon.
August 24, 2005	Mindy started feeling fake contractions (Braxton-Hicks) this week -- she had a couple of really strong ones in the evenings.
August 29, 2005	Doctors visit went well. Mindy's iron level was checked and she received a Group B Strep test (we should get results in a week or so). They also conducted an ultrasound and verified that Erica is still pointing down (and to Mindy's left side). The ultrasound also estimated Erica's current weight as 7 lbs 2 ozs (although they said the test usually runs high so the actual weight is probably more like 6 lbs 10 ozs). Since Mindy is doing well and her blood pressure is staying low, the doctor said we don't need to come back for another two weeks.
September 2, 2005	Mindy is having Braxton-Hicks contractions about twice a day now. She has also started producing Colostrum. She tested positive for Group B Strep, so she will be given IV antibiotics during birth to help protect Erica. Mindy has definitely changed "shape" in the past few days -- you can tell Erica has dropped more.
September 13, 2005	At the doctor's visit today, Dr. Brown stripped the membranes just inside Mindy's cervix. She is dialated 3cm and is about 50% effaced. Her belly is 39" and blood pressure was perfect. He asked us to make an appointment for next Tuesday (Sept. 20) and if she hasn't had the baby by then, we will probably setup an appointment for her to be induced. Mindy is still having 4-5 contractions a day and has had a little spotting.
September 19, 2005	Things got pretty exciting around here Monday night. Mindy started having contractions around 6pm and they continued until around 10pm. At first, it seemed they were occurring at regular intervals and getting stronger (all the right signs to pack the car, which we did!). But after a while, the contractions started coming at irregular times and then went away all together. We even got up and took a walk around the neighborhood hoping to keep things moving. All signs that Erica is VERY near to making her appearance -- stay tuned... We go to the doctor on Wednesday the 21st around lunchtime, not Tuesday as stated above.
September 21, 2005	Dr. Brown performed another examination of Mindy today. He estimates her to be dialated 4cm and to be about 70% effaced. He stripped her membranes again and said he expects the baby to come in the next few days. Just in case, we scheduled an appointment next Tuesday (Sept. 27) at Valley Medical Center for Mindy to be induced.
