Enhanced SVS to support the Embedded Training for Dismounted Soldiers
(ETDS) STO. Repackaged and enhanced the Future Warrior Simulation
System (FuWaSS). Integrated SVS with the METI Human Patient Simulator
and implemented initial combat medic capability. Implemented first
version of the SVS “version server”. Enhanced SVS Wearable
packaging by integrating with the Q3D Thermite and adding enhanced
virtual aiming modes. Supported culminating event experiments at Ft.
Benning. Delivered two SVS Wearable systems to the Future Force Warrior
(FFW) Lab and provided on-site training.

Provided seven types of SVS laser mockup (surrogate) weapon to Ft.

Implemented accurate ballistics modeling (fly-outs) using the Engagement
Skills Trainer (EST) data.

“suites” to active CST units in New York and Missouri.

– June 1999. Analyzed how CGF Terrain datasets from ModSAF CTDB
could be represented in the SEDRIS Data Model and then translated
to the ITEMS and ATCOM CGF formats used by SOCOM.

Lossless Database Conversion via SEDRIS”, SBIR Topic OSD98-028,

December 2001. Investigated approaches that utilized SEDRIS for converting
3D visual database formats to those used by USSOCOM. Created SEDRIS
mapping documents for the USSOCOM formats. Designed the USSOCOM-to-SEDRIS
import libraries. Designed the generalized SEDRIS-to-USSOCOM database
compilers. Designed the export libraries for the USSOCOM specific
formats. Developed a prototype software implementation to perform
the conversions.

March 2002. Developed simulation software applications and architectures
to efficiently and effectively use the High Level Architecture (HLA)
from their initial design, shared engineering lessons learned in these
software efforts with others just starting with HLA, and participated
as a Cadre team member to provide engineering assistance to others
with their HLA implementations.

1997 – February 1998. Expanded upon the SEDRIS Navigator project
to create a set of dynamicy libraries to support the visualization
of 3D terrain databases within Netscape for a variety of database

for simulation products.
- STRICOM/NAWCTSD “SEDRIS
Navigator”, BAA Contract No. N61339-98-C-0034, Phase I April
1997 – October 1997; Phase II April 1998 - January 1999. SEDRIS
Navigator enables the viewing of large synthetic environment data
sets such as terrain databases historically created by the Government.
The first phase of this project was focused on developing a cross-platform
server/client architecture which enabled accessing synthetic environment
data sets through the SEDRIS Application Programmer Interface (API)
, streaming the data across a network, and then rendering a 3D view
of the data set from any arbitrary viewpoint. Under the Phase II effort,
RBD improved the SEDRIS Navigator software package by expanding the
number of data formats supported and by adding a Graphical User Interface
(GUI).

Immersive Systems to the Land Warrior Test Bed (LWTB) at Ft. Benning

simulation.

1997. Supported a set of engineering and user experiments by providing
SGI-based, modified dismounted infantry virtual simulation software
(Bayonet) that supported the first version of the Omni-Directional
Treadmill (ODT) in a four-screen surround Walk In Synthetic Environment
(WISE).
- DMSO “High Level
Architecture Run Time Infrastructure (HLA RTI)”, Subcontract
through MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Prime Contract No. F19628-95-C-0002,
November 1996 – March 1997. Designed and developed the Management
Object Module (MOM) of the HLA RTI-s and ported the RTI-s to Linux.
